YooHoo & Friends birthday party

My son recently turned five and wanted a YooHoo & Friends birthday party. Unfortunately, they don't make any party supplies for these cute little stuffed animals so I had to do them myself. I was lucky, however, in the fact that there are tons of images on their web site! I mostly used a cricut expression and sure cuts a lot (SCAL) software to make all the cute little faces and party hats. The piƱata I had to do myself and it turned out mostly looking like my son's favorite animal YooHoo aka Eddy. All my DS's YooHoo's are named Eddy, lol. We have little Eddy, big Eddy, and SmEddy.

Treat bags and party hats for the kids. (and some of the BIG kids.)

Poor Eddy about to get smashed.

The figures were made using marshmallow fondant and some toothpicks for holding on legs and tails. My son was VERY specific about how he wanted his cake. This was modeled after a party image on the YooHoo site.

The party decor was pretty simple but, turned out cute. I just picked four colors to use for everything. Purple, two blues, yellow and green. I made the puffs with tissue paper and tried not to make them too flowery.

Super Kid

A little friend of ours turned 5 today so, I made him this reversible cape. I drew it freehand using wrapping paper to get the pattern and cut out the logos on felt with fusible web and then ironed on. My little guy wasn't so into it but, I know our little friend will be happy.

Books in the gutter

I did this probably six months ago but, never got around to posting it. I have two shelves in my son's room and two in our dining room which doubles as his play room. We were having serious problems with him dumping all books off his bookshelf and I finally realized he just wanted to see them all. We can't fit all of our books on there but, it is nice to rotate them out in his room. In our dining room one shelf is just for library books and it is awesome to always know where to find them. Well his books, my library books are another story. ;)

First one done

I have my first finished quilt done. I have a whole large Amy Butler fabric quilt all pieced and ready to quilt sitting in my sewing room but, this one got done first. It is just a little baby quilt made with some cute flannel fabrics I got at JoAnn's on black Friday. It will be a gift for my cousin's baby shower.
Forgive my lovely photography. The pictures were taken with my son's vTech camera.

Finally, I will be able to find my keys!

Tired of digging through my purse for my keys and saw this post the other day. Here is my version. Why, yes, that is Amy Butler fabric. I may have a slight addiction to her stuff.

Before & after shadowbox redo

I have been redoing my first floor bathroom. It is pretty small and I have been putting it off for some time...ok maybe 2 years or so. I bought this shadowbox a long time ago cheap and had always thought to pull it apart and put something else in it. The little pots were glued in there pretty well but, I pried them out and replaced them with these little wood birdhouse cutouts I painted and attached letters to. I used my favorite Amy Butler paper for the back. Love, love, love her stuff.

Birthday card made with my cricut

I sure do love the cricut I got for Christmas. I have been using it quite a bit, especially for someone that doesn't scrapbook! Here is a quick card I made for the little neighbor girl's birthday.
